Beginning the week of March 25th, National Grid will be ramping up their work on the gas project in an attempt to get as much done as possible prior to the busy summer season. A third construction crew will be working in town. The third crew will be on Satucket Rd at Leland Rd and will be working west, towards AP Newcomb. As was done earlier in the project, traffic on Satucket Rd will be detoured around the worksite, with detours at Ap Newcomb and Stony Brook Rd. The crew that is currently working on Stony Brook Rd near Paine’s Creek Rd will continue moving east. Once they have passed Paine’s Creek Rd, a detour will be put in place keeping traffic away from that worksite as well. Access to Stony Brook Rd, between Paine’s Creek and Satucket will still be available via Paine’s Creek Rd and Stony Brook from the Mill. The crew working on Slough Rd, will continue to move north and traffic will be reduced to one lane at a time. Attached are two maps outlining the work that has been done, the detours that will be in place, and the next phase of work. All dates are estimates, and we will continue to keep everyone updated about the progress and any additional changes.
