The Silvering Screen Film Series: “Young at Heart” Wednesday, October 23 12:30pm Brewster Fire Station - Multipurpose Room 1671 Main Street (behind the COA)
We are continuing to show a series of movies whose producers have used older actors to make a statement about the second half of life. Our fourth presentation will be “Young at Heart”. This movie is a documentary about the formation and growth of a 22-member chorus whose average age is 81, upending assumptions about friendship, old age, love and death. The film is FREE. This is a program of the Brewster Council on Aging, and we thank the Brewster Fire Department for the use of the room.
Please contact the COA at 508-896-2737 to reserve your seat. Light refreshments will be served, but please join us for lunch at the COA beforehand. For lunch reservations, please call our Brewster Nutrition Site at 508-896-5070 by 11:00am the day before to reserve your meal. Cost is $3.00 for lunch.

Homes for a Lifetime Planning Series Seminar #3:
“A Home Away from Home - Exploring Residential Care Options”
Tuesday, October 29 4:30 - 7:00pm Brewster Ladies Library Auditorium 1822 Main Street

Along with good health and economic security, planning for appropriate housing that meets one’s needs over time is essential, and should NOT wait for a health crisis to begin.
There is a high probability that, at some point, all of us will need some sort of supportive housing on a temporary or permanent basis. This seminar reviews a number of residential care options. Learn what to look for and how to ask the right questions to compare the quality of different facilities and make good choices if the time comes when more support is needed. Please contact the COA at 508-896-2737 to reserve your seat.
