Second Home Owners Requested to Submit Personal Property Forms

The Brewster Board of Assessors is requesting all Second Home Owners to complete Personal Property forms required by the Commonwealth. The Town uses the allocation method to value Second Home Personal Property which estimates the value of the personal property within the home based on a percentage of the value of the home. The Massachusetts Department of Revenue requires us to perform an analysis of all residential Second Home Personal Property every five years to review our allocation percentage. The current allocation percentage for Second Home Personal Property is 1% of the building value. The Board of Assessors is seeking your assistance in performing this analysis this year. Please complete the Massachusetts Form of List for Household Furniture and Effects (State Tax Form 2HF) and return it to:
