Update on Assessors Inspections

The Board of Assessors is conducting the annual inspections of all properties with building permits issued or completed in 2020.  The inspections will be performed by appraisers employed by PK Valuation Group of Sandwich, MA on behalf of the Brewster Board of Assessors.  The appraisers will be measuring and listing property to check for accuracy with the Town’s records and will also take pictures of the property.  For everyone’s health and safety, the appraisers will be following strict policies and procedures related to the pandemic while on site and will be limiting their inspections to the exterior, with very few exceptions.  Starting the week of February 1, one of the appraisers will be focusing on commercial properties with building permit activity.

The Board of Assessors is also continuing their Cyclical Re-inspection Program as required by the Department of Revenue.  The Cyclical Re-inspection program requires us to visit every property in town at least once every ten years.  The cyclical inspections are currently underway in the neighborhoods and side streets off of Route 137 and in the neighborhoods north of Route 6a on the east end of town.

The appraisers will have picture IDs and their information is on file with the Brewster Police Department.  The appraisers’ vehicle information is the following:
