On Monday October 21st, members from Wellfleet House assisted DNR staff with various projects in Town. The Corps started the morning at the Grist Mill and worked downstream toward Route 6A clearing any debris in the stream. Next, they journeyed out to the Town’s oyster farm at Mants Landing where they assisted in culling oysters in preparation for Oyster Sunday. Lastly, they wrapped up the day clearing the waterway between Slough Pond and Walkers Pond. The members all agreed that the highlight of the day was watching the juvenile herring make their way out of Slough Pond and head downstream toward Cape Cod Bay.
