COVID-19 Vaccine Update
The Brewster Health Department is in the early stages of discussions with our neighboring health departments and local partners to coordinate the distribution of the vaccine to our Cape residents. The majority of those prioritized in Phase One (healthcare workers, first responders, long term care facilities) will receive their first dose of a two dose vaccine in January, 2021. Phase Two will consist of high risk individuals, the educational community, other essential workers, and those 65 and older. Finally, Phase Three will provide vaccinations to the general public and those unavailable during the first two phases. The Health Department, in conjunction with our Council on Aging, will keep our residents informed as plans for each phase are finalized and ready to implement. Based on the availability of the vaccine as distributed through the MA DPH, vaccination clinics are expected to take place January through early summer, 2021. If not currently on the distribution list for the COA newsletter, seniors are asked to register with the COA at 508-896-2737. Regular updates can also be found on the Town of Brewster webpage.
