Open Position: Town Administrator’s Office, Executive Assistant
The Town of Brewster seeks qualified candidates for the position of Executive Assistant to the Town Administrator. Position is responsible for providing a wide range of administrative and clerical support services to the Select Board and Town Administrator’s office and serves as the primary contact for public inquiries and requests for information. Duties include, but are not limited to; monitor & process department payroll, expenditures, accounts payable, and lease payments consistent with budget appropriations; oversees all licensing processes under the authority of the Select Board; oversees operation of mail-in permit program and seasonal permit sales office; posts meeting notices, prepares agendas and distributes meeting materials to Select Board and ensures compliance with Open Meeting Law; draft meeting minutes for Board meetings. Must possess strong computer, accounting, organizational and customer service skills. Ability to deal with the public politely and effectively both in person and over the phone. Must be able to problem solve and work well with others in dynamic, team environment. Associates Degree and 3-5 years prior work experience, preferably in municipal government; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a full time 40 hour a week, Grade 2, Personnel Bylaw position, with a starting pay range of $27.50 - $31.50 per hour.
