Open Position: Senior Department Assistant, Assessor's Office

The Town of Brewster is seeking applicants for a Senior Department Assistant in the Assessor’s Office. Position performs office, administrative and record keeping work to assist the Deputy Assessor with the operations of the office. Duties include, but are not limited to; assist the public and answer questions; maintain and update record systems for property and excise taxes; process excise tax bills and abatements; prepare state and local reports as required. Must possess strong computer and organizational skills. Ability to deal with the public politely and effectively both in person and over the phone. High School degree required, Associates degree or higher preferred, and a minimum of two years office experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Municipal experience and MAAO training a plus.
