Residents Invited to Participate in First Community Forum about Future of Sea Camps Properties

Please note that there is still room for Brewster Residents to join the 1pm to 3pm session. You do not need to sign up via the Eventbrite platform the day of thanks

On Saturday May 20, 2023, the Town of Brewster is hosting the first of six public forums to help determine future uses of the former Sea Camps properties.  There will be two public engagement sessions held in the Bay Property Dining Hall on the 20th, from 10AM to 12PM and from 1PM to 3PM.  The property will be open to the public to explore on foot from 9AM to 4PM that day.  Residents are invited to register here for either the morning or afternoon workshop.  An overview of the first forum can be found here.

The Brewster Recreation Department will offer activities on the athletic fields and in the Arts Center for kids ages 4+ during both sessions.  Please sign up via the forum registration portal so we can plan accordingly. Questions can be directed to Mike Gradone, Recreation Director, at mgradone@brewster-ma.gov.

The Council on Aging is also offering rides to and from both community forum sessions.  Please call the Council on Aging at 508-896-2737 by Thursday May 18 to arrange for transportation.

In partnership with the Bay & Pond Property Planning Committees, the Town’s consulting team, led by Reed Hilderbrand, has undertaken an extensive discovery process to identify existing uses and site conditions to better inform decisions about future uses of these properties.  The results of this first phase of work are summarized in this video, which residents are encouraged to watch in advance of the May 20 forum.  The Pond Property Planning Committee has also created this video to introduce residents to the pond property.  Detailed findings from discovery for each property can be found below.
