FY26 Rates & Fees
Water Rates: Effective July 1, 2024
Water bills are mailed twice a year based on the billing periods:
August 1st - Usage between January 1st through June 30th
February 1st - Usage between July 1st through December 31st
Water Usage:
- Step 1: $2.71 per 1,000 gallons from 0 to 5,000 gallons of usage per billing.
- Step 2: $5.80 per 1000 gallons from 5,001 gallons of usage per billing.
System Maintenance Fee: Based on meter size:
Please note: The SMF is the minimum charge regardless of water consumption. The purpose of the minimum charge is to recover the costs associated with the daily operation of the department.
- 5/8" or 3/4" - $75.00 per billing
- 1" - $150.00 per billing
- 1.5" - $175.00 per billing
- 2" - $225.00 per billing
- 3" - 300.00 per billing
Backflow Testing: $75.00 per test / device
Fire Line Fee:
2" Line - $80.00 per billing
4" - 8" Line - $160.00 per billing
Billing statements with estimated or zero usage indicate some type of equipment malfunction. Please contact the water department as soon as possible to have the meter checked or changed out. Owners will be responsible for all usage.
Interest on Past Due Accounts:
14% per annum charged on unpaid balances 30 days from the date of invoice (statutory rate applicable to property taxes, M.G.L. Ch. 59 & 57).
