Open Burning (Available January 15-May 1)
Open burning season in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts begins on January 15, 2024 and ends on May 1, 2024. To safely conduct an open burn of brush residents must first obtain a permit from the Brewster Fire Department.
Permits may be purchased in person at Fire/Rescue Headquarters 1671 Main Street Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The fee for in person permits is $10.00. In person sales begin Monday January 8th. Permits will not be sold in person on weekends and/or holidays.
Permits may be purchased online through the Towns permit portal here. In addition to the $10.00 fee permit there is a service charge to use the electronic payment system.
