9/11 Memorial

“Never Forget” 9/11 Memorial

Inspired by a Boy Scout 9/11 memorial event in 2010 and his work at the World Trade Center, Fire Chief Robert Moran contacted the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and the FDNY Commissioners Office in early 2011 and was able to obtain a 31-inch twisted beam of steel from the World Trade Center to be placed on display in front of the former fire station.

On September 11, 2011 the impressive memorial was dedicated in memory of the first responders and civilians from the World Trade Center, Pentagon, and Flight 93 who perished during the terrorist attacks on 9/11. The sculpture was completed with funding from the Brewster Firefighters Association and donations from welder Josh Walther of Brewster and Thomas Blute of Harry T. Crosby & Sons Memorials (of Harwich).

In 2018 the memorial stone and steel was moved to the front of the newly completed fire headquarters where the Town and its residents continue to host a 9/11 memorial service each year.
