The Town of Brewster seeks an entity or individual to assist the Media Coordinator as needed for the day-to-day operations of the Town’s governmental cable station on a contract basis. The Town’s Government Cable Station is intended to serve as a constantly-improving and frequently-changing means of conveying and broadcasting important messages and information to the public, citizens and visitors alike. All messages and content to be broadcast over the cable station must be consistent with the Town’s policies, rules, and regulations and approved by the Town’s administration and in accordance with Select Board policy #39, Brewster Town Government Access Channel.  

The contract objectives will be to ensure a single individual or entity is consistently responsible for assisting the Media Coordinator with the operation of the Brewster’s Government Channel 8 recording studio and equipment. The contract will include the regular live broadcast and recording of Select Board meetings and any other meetings or content requested by the town. The Entity or individual shall provide professional assistance as needed in the operations of Channel 8.

It is expected that the consultant will be needed 5 to 10 hours a month on average and will work on a monthly schedule that is provided by the Town. No work hours shall be dedicated to projects that have not been approved by Town Administration. Special Projects require an estimate of the amount of time they will take and an estimated budget. It is anticipated that a minimum of two weeks’ notice will be required, prior to undertaking any field production, so that the production details can be planned efficiently.

Complete submittal of the quotes shall be received by the Town no later than 4 P.M. on Monday April 29, 2024.

The Town Manager reserves the right to reject any and all submittals, waive informalities, and to award contracts as may be in the best interests of the Town. The selected consultant shall be expected to comply with all applicable federal and state laws in the performance of services. The consideration of all qualifications and subsequent selection of the successful consultant shall be made without regard to race, color, sex, age, handicap, religion, political affiliation or national origin. The contract and its award process resulting from this Request for Quotes are subject to the Uniform Procurement Act pursuant to the M.G.L. c. 30B.
