Select Board Seeks to Appoint New Alternate Members to the Alewife Committee

The Select Board recently approved adding up to two (2) alternate members on the Alewife Committee. This longstanding committee oversees access to, and the repair and maintenance of, the Town’s Stony Brook herring run.  The committee makes recommendations on the recreational harvest of herring and they provide educational offerings to increase public awareness about herring, their habitat, and their role in the Town’s history.

The committee currently consists of three (3) members who are appointed by the Select Board. For more information about the Alewife Committee, please visit their page.
