Pond Property Planning Committee (PPPC)

The Pond Property Planning Committee was established in late 2021 tasked with developing a comprehensive plan for the former Cape Cod Sea Camps property located at 500 W H Besse Cartway.  The Committee was made up of eleven (11) members, appointed by the Select Board.  The Committee had non-voting liaisons from the Finance Committee and Vision Planning Committee.  There was non-voting representatives from organizations across the Cape. The lead staff support was the Assistant Town Manager and other Department Heads as needed.

At the Select Board meeting of June 3rd, 2024, a vote was taken to dissolve the Pond Property Planning Committee after their successful completion and adoption at the May 2024 Annual Town Meeting, of the Sea Camps Comprehensive Plan.  The Select Board have begun the process of developing the Sea Camps Advisory Committee whose charge will be implementing the plan.

In order to educate the Brewster community about the property while safe and appropriate access is being determined, the PPPC is debuting a new video, “Introducing the Pond Property” providing a virtual tour of the beautiful 66-acre parcel from Route 137 to the shores of Long Pond.  The video can be viewed here.
