National Senior Center Month Begins with a BBQ at the Council on Aging

COA BBQ

The Council on Aging and Friends of Brewster Seniors partnered to host their 2nd Annual Labor Day BBQ on Friday, September 1. A fun time was had by all as residents enjoyed the warm weather and closed out the summer season with a cookout.

September is National Senior Center Month. The Brewster Council on Aging and Senior Center is one of 350 Councils on Aging and Senior Centers throughout Massachusetts.  It is a trusted local resource for older adults and their families, creating an age- and dementia-friendly community, and offering social and wellness programs to Brewster residents. The COA is an integral partner in care delivery, offering meals and nutrition services, public health guidance, vaccine education, and vaccinations. The Brewster Senior Center acts as a place for older adults to discover their unique interests, talents, and aspirations with a wide range of educational, social, health and physical activity programs.

This year is a special one for the Brewster Council on Aging as it celebrates its 50th anniversary. The theme of the 2023 National Senior Center Month is "Discover Yours".  Discover what the Brewster COA has to offer – stop by to talk with us, follow us on Facebook, pick up a newsletter or read it online here.  Keep an eye out for more special events throughout our 50th year.
