Open Movement Arts Fair

Saturday June 3, 1pm-4pm - Drummer Boy Park

Drummer Boy Park in Brewster will be the site of the upcoming Open Movement Arts Fair on June 3 from 1-4 pm. We have gathered local movement arts professionals to offer free and open mini-workshops with a diverse intergenerational public from 1-3 pm in multiple sites of the park, followed by an artistic performance from 3-4 pm. The rain date is June 4.

All are welcome to come and sample the wares of people who work in local studios or have open movement arts projects available nearby, offering continuity to learn and practice. There will be a selection of offerings from 1-3 pm, as well as areas where simultaneous workshops of Capoeira, Egyptian, Contemporary, Tai Chi and other modalities will take place. There will also be movement areas for toddlers, children and caregivers to play with age-appropriate, DIY, movement equipment. Water and simple snacks are also available. Bring a chair if you want to take a break or just watch!

The Fair is an initiative to focus on the development and expansion of regional movement arts culture, offering local practitioners a sustainable and inclusive platform. This open fair is part of the pilot project “Dancing by the Bay” of the Brewster Cultural Council, with funding from the Mass Cultural Council. See the flyer below for more information.
