Brewster Seeks Resident to Serve as Liaison to Barnstable County Human Rights Advisory Commission

The Town of Brewster is seeking a resident to serve as a liaison to the Barnstable County Human Rights Advisory Commission (BCHRAC).

The BCHRAC promotes equal opportunity in housing, employment, education, public accommodations, town and county services, insurance, banking, credit, and healthcare for all persons in Barnstable County regardless of race, color, religious creed, national origin, sex, age, ancestry, sexual or affection preference, marital, family or military status, source of income, neighborhood or disability.  More information can be found here.

The BCHRAC is comprised of nine voting members and two alternates, as well as liaisons who represent each of the 15 towns and the Wampanoag Tribes in Barnstable County. There are currently two Brewster residents who serve as voting members on the Commission.  Liaisons from each community will assist in collectively addressing human rights issues in the County that transcend town boundaries, and they will work to ensure that each community has a voice for human rights at the County Level. The BCHRAC meets remotely on the third Monday of the month from 5-6:30pm. The Brewster liaison would be asked to attend the monthly Commission meetings as well as meetings of one of the designated sub-committees.
