Good Neighbor Fund Information

Good Neighbor Fund

To help coordinate local fundraising and philanthropic efforts to provide essential services to Brewster residents, the Town of Brewster has established the Good Neighbor Fund. Residents may apply for financial assistance for urgent situations that would help them avoid a crisis such as homelessness or loss of heat, as well as non-urgent situations such as assistance with childcare, after school care, summer programs, utility bills, medical bills, etc.

Since the inception of the Good Neighbor Fund (originally created in 2020 as the COVID Relief Fund) the Town has awarded over $39,000 to more than 26 Brewster residents in need.  Thanks to your generous donations, the Town has been able to help our residents with mortgage and rent payments, medical bills, childcare costs, utility bills, car payments, insurance payments, and other needs. The current balance of the fund is just under $5,000. If you would like to partner with the Town so that we may continue to support your neighbors in need, please click here to give to the Good Neighbor Fund.

Applications are held in confidence and Brewster Town staff are available to meet or talk to residents of all ages to provide information, support, referrals, and assistance in the Good Neighbor fund application process.
