Open Burning Season Ends May 1

Wednesday, May 1 will be the last day for open burning during the 2024 calendar year. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts allows residents to obtain a permit from their local Fire Department for the purpose of conducting open burning between January 15 and May 1 of each year. The Brewster Fire Department is unable to issue permits for open burning outside of these dates.
Permits will continue to be available at the Brewster Fire Department (M-F, 8:30am-4:00pm) and online at https://brewsterma.portal.opengov.com/ through 12PM Wednesday, May 1.
