Board signs Public Health Excellence Grant:

Barnstable County Public Health Services Program Manager, Katie O’Neill presented the benefits of the Public Health Excellence Grant program which is designed to encourage towns to expand the sharing of staff and resources with the intent to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of public health.  By joining the grant program, Brewster will not be required to fund any portion of the program and can opt out at any time without penalty.  Health Director Amy Von Hone stated “there is nothing to lose” by joining this collaboration as the Town has already taken advantage of some of the programs offered through the C.A.P.E. Public Health Collaborative. The Board of Health approved the Intermunicipal Agreement at their September 9, 2023, meeting.

Discussion on the Requested Amendment of Nauset Regional School Agreement:

Following the Select Board and Town Manager’s request in May of 2023 to the Nauset Regional School Committee to consider amendments to the 20-year-old Regional School Agreement, Chair Easley confirmed that the Committee will begin the process to amend the agreement to meet the requests of member Towns.  The Board requested that the School Committee complete as much outreach as possible to gain input from the member towns and the public for the future of the district.
