Town of Brewster Receives Award for Outstanding Drinking Water

In honor of National Drinking Water Week, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) announced today that the Town of Brewster has received an award for its public water system. Brewster achieved one of the top scores in the Medium and Large Community System category. Brewster Water Department employees Alex Provos, Sherry Theuret, and Amy Taber attended the ceremony today at the Massachusetts State House in Boston.

MassDEP works with drinking water utilities to make sure that the water delivered to consumers meets all federal and state standards, and is clean and abundant, and each of the systems recognized have complete compliance with the regulations for calendar year 2022. For more than 36 years, during National Drinking Water Week in May, MassDEP has recognized and awarded certain exemplary systems that have reached meritorious service for their work during the previous calendar year.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by MassDEP during National Drinking Water Week,” said Brewster Water Superintendent Paul Anderson. “I’m fortunate to work with dedicated water works professionals and grateful for the support we receive from the administration, boards and committees, department heads and all the residents. Brewster is a special place.”
