FINAL OYSTER SUNDAY: JANUARY 21 12:45 PM until stock runs out. 

A reminder that the Town of Brewster’s will hold the final Oyster Sunday on January 21 at Mants Landing, with the beds opening from 12:45 pm- until supply runs out.  We have a limited supply so it will be a first come first serve basis.  We ask that people be considerate of others and only harvest what you will consume.

2024 Recreational Shellfish permits are preferred but 2023 permits will be honored.  New permits are now available for purchase at Town Hall.

As you mark your calendar, keep in mind these helpful hints:

  • You will need a 2023 or 2024 Shellfish Permit - purchase permits online here.
  • Remember to dress warm.
  • Temperature restrictions apply ( can not harvest if temperature is 30 degrees F or below)
  • Please keep your catch to what you will consume.
  • Wear gloves to protect your hands.

Oyster Sundays will begin on October 22 at Mants Landing and will continue weekly until stock runs out. Each Sunday, at low tide, the Department of Natural Resources will open cages for 2023 recreational shellfish permit holders to harvest 5 quarts of oysters.  Please wait in the parking area until DNR staff has opened the cages:

  • October 22          10:30am-1:00pm
  • October 29          4:30pm-6:00pm
  • November 5        9:30am-12:00pm
  • November 12      3:00pm-4:30pm
  • November 19      8:00am-11:30am
  • November 26      2:30pm-4:15pm
  • December 10      1:30 PM - 4:10 PM

  • Saturday, December 23: 12:45 PM - 3:30 PM

Please bring a valid 2023 Brewster taxpayer/resident recreational shellfish permit (purchase permits online here).
