Public Comment Open for Low-Lying Road Solutions

The Town of Brewster, in partnership with the Cape Cod Commission, recently held a second public workshop on April 27 for residents to learn about the Low-Lying Roads Project. The first public workshop was held in February 2022.

Low-lying roads are areas prone to flooding from the combined effects of hazards such as sea level rise, storm surge, and erosion. The Commission is working with Cape Cod towns to identify and prioritize low-lying roads to target for coastal resiliency action, and examine appropriate design solutions. This regional initiative is supported with state Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness grant funds.

At the recent workshop, possible solutions were proposed for three identified low-lying road segments in Brewster.  The conceptual design plans for each prioritized road segment and their associated solutions are available in these documents:

The Cape Cod Commission is now accepting public comments from Brewster residents on the proposed conceptual designs for these road segments. To provide public comments, please click here.
