The Bash - Brewster Recreation & Nauset Youth Alliance Fundraiser

Since 2009, the Brewster Recreation Department and Recreation Commission have awarded the Bob Redd Memorial Youth of the Year Scholarship to two high school seniors from Brewster who have demonstrated their commitment to the Brewster community through service. Each scholarship is $1,000 with eligibility for another $1,000 the following year if academic requirements are met. If all students meet requirements, that means we are giving $4,000 per year in academic scholarships.

In order to continue providing these scholarships, we will be hosting an event at the Pelham House on Sunday, October 1st with the Nauset Youth Alliance.  This will be a benefit for both organizations, which are vital to the youth of our community.  We have named this event “The Bash” and we are planning to highlight many of the great things that both Brewster Rec and Nauset Youth Alliance do for our community.  There will be a silent auction with many items up for bid, and the proceeds will be split between the two organizations.

The Bob Redd Memorial Youth of the Year Scholarship has been funded by the Bloom Run 5K road race in the past.  The account balance was reduced during the pandemic because we were not able host the annual race.  We are hoping that this event can raise some additional funds that will help us to continue to provide scholarships moving forward.   

We are hoping you can attend this important event.  We are planning to reach out to family and friends that have a history with both organizations as well.  Past directors, committee members, scholarship recipients, as well as kids who attended both programs and have kids of their own in the programs now are also being invited to attend.  More details are posted on both the Recreation & NYA website.
