Town of Brewster Recognized With Prestigious Budget Award

The Town of Brewster, Massachusetts has received the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its Fiscal Year 2024 budget.

In meeting nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation, this honor represents a significant achievement for Brewster. “This award reflects our shared goal of creating budgetary documents that reflect best practices in financial policy, planning, and communication,” Town Manager Peter Lombardi acknowledged. “I want to thank our entire Finance Team, especially Finance Director Mimi Bernardo and Assistant Town Manager Donna Kalinick, for their outstanding efforts in developing budget information that helps residents better understand how their tax dollars support Town services and programs.”

“Earning this recognition validates that the Town of Brewster maintains high budgeting and financial reporting standards aligned with its strategic goals,” said Finance Director Mimi Bernardo. “This award affirms Brewster’s commitment to producing transparent and exceptional financial reports.”

Approximately 40 other Massachusetts municipalities have attained this award in recent years. Award recipients have pioneered efforts to improve the quality of budgeting and provide an excellent example for other governments throughout North America.
