2024 Session
Proposed Ordinance Nos. 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6
On February 7, 2024 at 4:00 p.m., the Barnstable County Assembly of Delegates will hold hybrid (in-person and virtual) public hearings on Proposed Ordinance No. 1, Barnstable County Fiscal Year 2025 Capital Budget; Proposed Ordinance No. 3, Regulating the rates charged for Barnstable County Dredge Program Services; Proposed Ordinance No. 4, Committing Barnstable County Government to robust funding of its OPEB Trust Fund, to address currently unfunded County OPEB liabilities, including dedicated funding from anticipated state reimbursements in upcoming fiscal years, to further strengthen the County's financial position; Proposed Ordinance No. 5, Establishing a special purpose stabilization fund to address short and long-term PFAS remediation and/or treatment costs and appropriating available funds from the Barnstable County unreserved fund balance into this special purpose stabilization fund, to further strengthen the County's financial position; and Proposed Ordinance No. 6, Establishing a Capital Improvement Fund and making an initial appropriation thereto from the Barnstable County unreserved fund balance, to further strengthen the County's financial position. The public hearings will be held in the Mary Pat Flynn Conference Center at the Barnstable County Courthouse Complex, 3195 Main Street – Route 6A, in the town of Barnstable, and via Microsoft Teams. The hearings will be open to anyone wishing to testify or make public comment on the proposed ordinances. The full text of the proposed ordinances has been electronically distributed to the Town Clerk of each town in Barnstable County. It is also available on the Cape Cod Regional Government website. Instructions on accessing the public hearing will be detailed on the Assembly of Delegates Business Calendar for February 7, 2024 is located at https://www.capecod.gov/county-government/meeting-center/. Written comments can also be emailed to owen.fletcher@capecod.gov before noon on the date of the public hearing. The County will also stream the public hearing and Assembly meeting live on the County YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/c/BarnstableCountyVideo.
