What will this project work consist of?

The work consists of the construction of a new boat ramp, creating a second entrance to the parking area to better separate beach and boat traffic, and improving boat trailer parking. The proposed design also includes a greater level of stormwater treatment and control.

How is this project being paid for?

Funding to complete this project was secured at Town Meeting in May 2022. The Town attempted to find alternative funding sources for this project. Applications for state grants were unsuccessful, as were efforts to find other sources of funding. Much of the cost is related to replacing the existing pavement (entry, parking, access to ramp) which requires stormwater improvements, and to safety improvements of traffic flow and the separation of beach use from ramp use.

When will the work be complete?

The landing will be closed from May 6 through May 10, to allow our contractor, Speakman Excavating, to complete final punch list items and additional work on the ramp. The improved landing and boat ramp will be fully open for the Summer 2024 season.
