Brewster Celebrates Public Service Recognition Week

Public Service Week

This week, we celebrate Public Service Recognition Week by recognizing the dedicated individuals who serve the Town of Brewster. From our first responders and public works crews to the staff in all Town offices and beyond, your hard work continues to strengthen our community.

At the beginning of this year’s Annual Town Meeting, Town Manager Peter Lombardi recognized the following employees who were nominated by their colleagues for going above and beyond:

  • Mimi Bernardo, Finance Director
  • Jimmy DeWitt, Public Works Equipment Operator
  • Tom Flynn, Captains Golf Foreman
  • Dean Smith, Firefighter/EMT

Brewster also has many residents who serve on our boards, committees, and commissions and have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to serving the citizens of Brewster.  The Select Board invited nominations from the Brewster community for volunteers who have made a difference in improving public services for all.

At Town Meeting, Select Board Chair Mary Chaffee and Vice Chair Amanda Bebrin recognized the following winners of this year’s Brewster Public Service Award:

  • Dr. Kimberley Crocker Pearson – Environmental Impact Award
  • Gregory Levasseur – School Facilities Impact Award
  • Peter Johnson – Community Character Impact Award

Your dedication to Brewster truly makes it a special place.  We are grateful for everything you do - this week and every week!
