As part of Books and Big Ideas 2025, The Natural Resources Department has set September 28th as our CoastSweep Beach Cleanup Day! Join DNR staff members to help clean up our beaches. 

COASTSWEEP 2025 – Sunday, September 28
Join us for this statewide effort organized by the Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management to clean up shorelines across the Commonwealth.

  • Meeting time: 10:00 AM
  • Meeting location: First Light Beach parking area.
  • Team effort: Volunteers will be divided into four groups, each covering a section of Brewster’s shoreline.
  • Family-friendly: A safe and fun activity for kids and adults alike. Please bring work gloves if you have them.

These events are a great way to connect with neighbors, enjoy the outdoors, and make a visible difference in our community. Whether you can join us for one or both, your efforts will help keep Brewster litter free.
