Select Board

The Select Board is the executive branch of Town government, and has legal responsibilities derived from State statutes and Town bylaws. Select Board members are elected. Specifically, the Board:

  • Prepares the town meeting warrant
  • Makes appointments to town boards and offices
  • Employs professional administrative staff and town counsel
  • Establishes Select Board policies
  • Signs warrants for the payment of town bills
  • Grants licenses and permits

The Brewster Select Board and Town Management believe:

Town Manager

The Town Manager and Assistant Town Manager are professional municipal leaders who carry out the day-to-day duties of the Board and lead the Town’s employees in the execution of their duties.

Meeting Schedule

The Select Board typically meets the first and third Mondays of each month at 6pm at Brewster Town Hall (and via electronic means at certain times). The Board may schedule additional meetings as needed including executive sessions or joint meetings to deliberate with other Town boards or committees.

Office Hours

The Town Manager and members of the Select Board will be holding open office hours the first Wednesday of each month from 10am to 1130am at various Town locations. The location of the office hours will be posted on our home page a week in advance. No appointment is necessary.
