Register Your Private Well- 2025 Eversource Vegetation Management Plan

Eversource has recently released their 2025 Yearly Operational Plan (YOP) to inform municipalities of their intent to utilize an integrated vegetation management plan that includes the use of herbicides on electric rights-of-way (ROWs). Since 2008, the Brewster Select Board has expressed their strong opposition to the State’s allowance of the routine management practice of applying chemical herbicides to control vegetative growth on electric ROWs. The Select Board issued a letter in May 2025 expressing our continued opposition to this practice.  The Town has taken great measures to protect and preserve our water and land resources over the years. 

Eversource is providing Brewster residents the opportunity to register their private wells located along the rights-of-way.  Registration of your well provides valuable information to Eversource and MA Department of Agricultural Resources to assist with proper placement of herbicides away from your well.
